Summary

Stranded by a relentless storm along Vermont’s iconic Route Two, a couple’s journey home takes a horrifying turn when they seek shelter at a secluded inn that is anything but a refuge. They soon realize that they are not welcome guests—they are prey. As eerie whispers blur the lines between nightmare and reality, the night becomes a harrowing ordeal filled with unimaginable twists and terror. Will they unravel the inn’s dark history in time to escape, or will they become the latest names on its long list of victims?

What Whispers in the Darkness

Praise

As a copy editor who has read hundreds of books, this is by far one of the best fiction novels I have encountered in a long time. WHAT WHISPERS IN THE DARKNESS showcases a masterful blend of suspense and artistic candor, placing Balog among the elite league of Great Fiction Writers alongside Stephen King, John Grisham, and Irving Wallace. Each chapter allowed me to deeply appreciate the plot while providing significant enlightenment. I am inspired by Balog’s writing talent and in awe of this remarkable work he has crafted. Readers will enjoy a top-tier reading experience, as the detailed and sophisticated depiction of events in this book is truly unparalleled.

Andrew F. Balog is an American novelist, born in 1990, who grew up in a quaint lakeside town on Lake Champlain, New York. His deep-seated passion for storytelling emerged early in his life. Balog embarked on his career in the film industry, where he spent over a decade refining his skills and received numerous national and international awards for his work. Ultimately, he chose to return to his first passion: writing novels. Today, he resides on a small farm in upstate New York with his wife, Margaret, and their three children. Balog remains steadfastly devoted to the core principles of his life: faith, family, and the art of storytelling.
